Islamabad Hearing Center offers variety of hearing tests that will help people related to hearing loss. our Audiologist will perform your hearing evaluation and will take the time to fully explain it to you. If you need additional treatment, such as hearing aids or other assistive devices, Audiologist will gather information regarding your hearing, difficulties, and other worries you have. Using that data and the results of the tests, will advise a treatment plan as well as which technology is best for you.

PTA TEST

Pure Tone Audiometry (PTA) is a hearing test performed on the ears by measuring the smallest amplitude of sound waves in the absolute-tone test. This test can be performed with a microphone or without. It is the most accurate way to determine when the correct amount of hearing aids will be suitable for an individual. IHC perform PTA test at affordable rates in Pakistan.

Tympanometry

Tympanometry is a hearing test that shows how well your middle ear is working. It does this by measuring how your eardrum moves. Your ear consists of three parts: the outer ear, the middle ear and the inner ear. Sound enters through your outer ear as energy or vibrations. The energy strikes your eardrum (located in your middle ear) and travels to your inner ear and brain.

ASSR TEST

The auditory steady-state response (ASSR) can be thought of as an electrophysiologic response to rapid auditory stimuli. The goal of ASSR is to create an estimated audiogram from which questions regarding hearing, hearing loss. ASSR allows the hearing care professional to create statistically valid audiograms for those unable or unwilling to participate in traditional behavioral tests

BERA TEST

The brainstem evoked response audiometry (BERA) is an objective neurophysiological method for the evaluation of the hearing threshold and diagnosing retro-cochlear lesions. The aim of the study was to investigate the hearing level in children with suspected hearing loss or pathological speech development.

Tinnitus

Tinnitus is a ringing or buzzing noise in the ears. Tinnitus evaluation helps consultant diagnose the source of hearing sounds that come from inside your body, rather than from an outside source. If you are hearing continuous noises in your ears, visit your nearest audiology consultant and get your Tinnitus evaluation done.

Audiometry (AC,BC)

An audiometry evaluation is a non-invasive, painless hearing test that assesses a person’s ability to differentiate between different sounds, pitches, and frequencies. Patients with a tumor in or around the ear may receive audiometry testing to see if they have developed hearing loss or to monitor their hearing before and after surgery.

New Born Screening

The newborn hearing screening test aids in the early detection of babies with irreversible hearing loss.The newborn hearing screening test helps identify babies who have permanent hearing loss as early as possible. This means parents can get the support and advice they need right from the start.

FM Systems

FM systems are wireless assistive hearing devices that enhance the use of hearing aids, cochlear implants and also assist people who are hard of hearing but do not wear hearing aids, in particular over distance and in noisy environments.

ABR TEST

The ABR test assesses how a child’s hearing nerve reacts to various noises. Electrodes are placed on a child’s head and in front of his or her ears and connected to a computer. Tests use a sophisticated computer to assess the child’s ability to hear.

Otoacoustic Emissions

The OAE (Otoacoustic Emissions) test examines a component of the inner ear’s sound response. When a small section of the cochlea is stimulated by clicking sounds, it produces otoac acoustic emissions. A practically inaudible sound is produced which echoes back into the middle ear.

ALD

Personal connections to equipment, such as assistive listening devices, make it simpler to hear and communicate. Amplified phones, phones, and smartphones compatible with hearing aids, television compatible devices, and warning devices are among them.

Causes of Hearing Loss

Hearing loss is not always a sign of aging .It may occur in people who are young and healthy.

There are three types of hearing loss

1)Sensorineural hearing loss: the most common type of hearing loss. It occurs when the inner ear nerves and hair cells are damaged perhaps due to age, noise damage, or something else. 2)Conductive hearing loss: the result of obstructions in the outer or middle ear perhaps due to fluid, tumors, earwax, or even ear formation. 3)Mixed hearing loss: what it sounds like a combination of sensorineural and conductive hearing loss.

A variety of hearing solutions can help people with different types and degrees of hearing loss. No matter the age, not being able to hear often negatively affects the quality of life. Hearing implants can bring back access to hearing and help people with hearing loss enjoy life again.
